Why choose construction heaters?

The construction industry never switches off, and projects need to be delivered all year round. During the winter months this can be particularly challenging, as bitterly cold weather can make life on construction sites less safe and effective, causing progress to slow and placing people’s health at risk.

Temporary heating solutions can address these difficult conditions, allowing construction projects to stay on schedule with minimal risk of cold stress or frost damage to essential equipment. Keeping temperatures within comfortable, safe levels in any setting, our heaters play a powerful role in workers’ safety across Europe.

In addition, our durable, efficient portable heaters are used year-round to speed up key tasks performed in many projects. Whether this is reducing the time it takes to dry plastered walls and concrete floors, or eliminating water damage from buildings and materials, construction heaters can be vital in completing work on time.

At Dantherm, we offer an extensive range of powerful, reliable and energy-efficient construction heating units to meet any need.

Our oil-fired and gas-fired heaters can deliver high volumes of heat in larger, more extensive construction sites. With options available to fuel units with diesel, natural gas or Biofuel, we have all bases covered to meet the parameters of your projects.

If your construction project is taking place in the open or a well-ventilated area, a direct-fired heater offers a cost-effective, very efficient way to keep spaces comfortable for all occupants. Plus, their straightforward design makes these easy to operate and maintain.

However, if ventilation is lacking, our indirect-fired heaters can deliver similar levels of heating power without generating any products of combustion. This allows these units to be safely used in compact rooms and underground without any risk to people’s health.

For those looking to avoid burning fuel on-site, we also supply a strong selection of electric heaters and infrared heaters. Our capable electric heaters can keep smaller indoor sites warm and cosy at all times – all that’s required is a three-phase power supply.

The high temperatures and exceptional efficiency of infrared heaters make them an ideal choice to accelerate the drying of plaster, concrete and other materials during projects.

Built to last, simple to use and easy to transport across construction sites, our construction heaters are a crucial support during any project, especially during the coldest months of the year. Plus, our expertise helps you find the most efficient, appropriate unit for your needs, and advises on how to operate these safely in any scenario.

Construction heaters: Frequently Asked Questions

What is a construction heater?

Whether keeping workers warm during the winter months, preventing critical equipment from freezing overnight, or speeding up important tasks, construction heaters are a valuable tool on many building sites.

Being exceptionally durable, efficient and effective, our full range of indirect and direct-fired infrared, electric, gas and oil heaters are tailor-made to suit the demands of the construction industry.

How does a construction heater work?

There are several different types of construction heaters, each of which function in their own way.

Electric heaters plug into power outlets, and use this electrical energy to warm up their heating elements, rapidly creating clean, warm air.

Direct gas and oil-fired heaters burn diesel, natural gas or Biofuel to create and emit large amounts of heat instantly. While exceptionally efficient, byproducts of combustion are also released in their air stream.

Indirect gas or oil-fired heaters also use combustibles to produce vast amounts of heat. However, instead of exposing air to a naked flame and emitting CO₂, indirect heaters house this flame in a combustion chamber, warming air indirectly and cleanly through a heat exchanger.

Lastly, infrared heaters harness either electricity or oil to produce vast amounts of short-wave infrared radiation. This type of radiant heat is similar to the warmth generated by the sun, and is typically used to dry materials and warm spaces evenly.

What are the benefits of using a construction heater?

As well as being an efficient and effective way of keeping teams on-site warm and safe in cold environments, construction heaters have a range of other benefits:

  • Wet concrete and plaster can be dried rapidly

  • Water can be removed from saturated materials quickly

  • Important equipment can be hastily defrosted

  • Employee productivity is maintained

Plus, because our market-leading construction heaters are portable and easy-to-use, warm air can be delivered whenever or wherever it is needed.

Can a construction heater be used in both indoor and outdoor construction projects?

Yes. However, it is important to choose the right type of heater for the job, or have the necessary precautions in place beforehand.

Direct heaters are exceptionally efficient, but emit pollutants including CO₂ and carbon monoxide during operation. As these contaminants can cause adverse health effects, it is vital these systems are used outdoors or in rooms with sufficient ventilation.

Indirect heaters, while not as efficient as direct systems, produce a stream of clean and warm air, making them suitable for use both indoors and out.
