Highlights of Dantherm Group’s Sustainability Report 2025
Dantherm Group’s Sustainability Report 2025 documents continued progress across all three ESG pillars – environmental, social, and governance – in a year that also required the business to navigate shifting regulatory conditions. Despite a temporary reprioritisation prompted by the EU Stop-the-Clock Directive, the Group’s commitment to responsible and forward-looking business practice remained firmly in place.
Below, we have listed our key sustainability achievements in 2025. Download the full 2025 ESG report to explore the details.
Dantherm Group’s key ESG achievements in 2025
Environmental progress
Reducing our own carbon footprint
Scope 1 & 2 market-based CO₂e emissions fell 10%, from 4,169 tons in 2024 to 3,752 tons in 2025.
70% of electricity consumed across operations now comes from renewable sources, reflecting strong underlying progress in our transition to cleaner energy.
Lower-GWP products as a core engineering priority
Approximately 30% of total engineering resources were dedicated to GWP (Global Warming Potential) reduction in 2025, including:
Transition to synthetic low-GWP and natural refrigerants such as CO₂ and propane (R290, GWP of just 3)
Product redesigns to improve energy efficiency
Compliance preparation for EU F-gas regulations coming into force in 2027 and 2032
Several popular dehumidifiers for swimming pools and commercial spaces have transitioned from the R407 refrigerant to R454, reducing GWP by 90%.
Waste management
At the Skive headquarters in Denmark, more than 95% of waste is recycled or converted to energy, sorted across 41 categories, with 0% going to landfill.
Food waste is converted into green energy and fertiliser, supporting climate protection and resource efficiency.
Responding to extreme weather – the new Extreme Weather Response Unit
In 2025, Dantherm Group launched a dedicated Extreme Weather Response Unit, which is a cross-functional initiative designed to ensure that the right equipment is available before a climate emergency strikes, not after.
As heatwaves and flooding become more frequent across Europe, Dantherm Group is uniquely positioned to be part of the solution. By leveraging EU Copernicus satellite data to monitor and forecast extreme weather events, the unit can anticipate demand peaks and pre-position critical stock, shortening lead times for cooling and water damage restoration equipment when communities need it most.
28 extreme weather warnings were issued to local sales organisations across Europe in 2025.
Emergency stock was established for 23 selected Water Damage Restoration (WDR) products to support faster deployment during flooding events.
The distribution network is being streamlined from seven to three European centres, enabling larger, more flexible stock pools and fewer overall shipments.
Climate solutions making a real difference
Beyond our own operations, Dantherm Group’s products are actively contributing to a lower-carbon built environment:
In London, we delivered an ultra-efficient bespoke air handling solution for the Woolwich Leisure Centre, which achieved a BREEAM Outstanding rating of 89.7% - only the second leisure centre in the UK to receive this accolade.
In Seville, 14 rooftop evaporative coolers were installed at an elementary school, using up to 90% less energy than traditional air conditioning and saving up to 80% on cooling bills.
Evaporative cooling solutions proved particularly valuable during the 2025 European heatwaves, providing sustainable, refrigerant-free cooling for industrial, logistics, and emergency settings.
Social impact
Workforce diversity and inclusion
32% of employees are female, up from 31% in 2024. The target is a minimum of 35% by 2030.
36% of white-collar employees are female, up from 35% in 2024.
9% of the workforce works part-time, reflecting the Group’s commitment to flexible employment.
1 discrimination incident was reported in 2025, with a corresponding action taken.
The age profile of the workforce spans three broad groups: 25% below 35 years, 35% between 35–50, and 40% above 50, with an ongoing focus on improving age diversity.
Employee development
The Training House was launched in 2025, a structured internal learning framework supporting both professional and personal development across the organisation.
A new group-wide performance and potential evaluation framework was introduced to create clearer career pathways and more targeted development initiatives.
In Denmark, selected blue-collar employees can access an external educational programme to qualify as Industrial Operators.
In 2025, Dantherm Group had 25 trainees across the organisation.
Health, safety and well-being
Health and safety incidents remained at the same low level as 2024, with 0% increase. The ambition of zero incidents remains unchanged.
The Work Environment Organisation continued regular internal audits and implemented preventive measures across all locations.
The Group’s third annual employee satisfaction survey, conducted in collaboration with Ramboll, returned an engagement score of 75. Increasing engagement, commitment and trust from employees is a key management focus for 2026.
Community and social recognition
Dantherm Denmark received the CSR People 2025 certificate from the municipality of Skive for actively employing staff under special conditions and contributing to labour market inclusion.
Governance and responsible sourcing
Supplier Code of Conduct
More than 90% of total direct procurement spend is placed with suppliers that have signed Dantherm Group’s Supplier Code of Conduct (SCoC), based on SMETA principles.
93% of total direct spend, 94% of trade goods spend, and 98% of controller spend is with SCoC-compliant suppliers.
PCBA and Trade Goods have been identified as high-risk categories, with a compliance target of 95% of spend from SCoC-committed suppliers.
EcoVadis and supply chain transparency
144 suppliers have completed ESG assessments and shared their scorecards with Dantherm Group via the EcoVadis platform — up from 108 in 2024.
Dantherm Group has obtained an EcoVadis Committed Rating, indicating good performance across the EcoVadis methodology.
Onsite audits
A supplier screening tool evaluates risk levels based on purchasing category, country of origin, and commercial scale.
2 suppliers shared SMETA or equivalent audit reports with Dantherm Group in 2025.
ESG data and governance structure
The internal ESG data foundation now covers more than 40 dedicated KPIs, with a continued focus on data quality and robust reporting systems.
The ESG governance structure – Group Management, Group ESG Leads, and Entity ESG Leads – remains firmly in place, ensuring clarity and accountability across the organisation.
Strategic direction for 2026
Environmental goals
F-gas compliance will remain a high-priority area throughout 2026, with a significant share of engineering resources dedicated to meeting evolving EU regulatory requirements for 2027 and 2032.
In 2026, Dantherm Group will complete the consolidation of its European distribution network, optimising our currently complex logistics structure. By improving truck utilisation and reducing unnecessary transport kilometres, we aim to lower transportation costs while decreasing CO₂ emissions.
Social initiatives
Dantherm Group will implement the EU Pay Transparency Directive across all entities in 2026, including introducing a new job-architecture framework and updated job-evaluation criteria.
New group-wide and local HR policies will be introduced to ensure consistent and compliant employment conditions across all countries and locations.
Governance enhancements
Supplier participation in the EcoVadis programme is expected to grow further in 2026, building on the 144 scorecards already shared.
Dantherm Group aims to review three SMETA or comparable audit reports during 2026, using the supplier screening tool to identify the highest-risk profiles.
The 2025 Sustainability Report reflects a business that continues to move forward, reducing its own impact, building the operational capabilities to support customers through climate emergencies, and strengthening the governance and social foundations that underpin long-term responsible growth.
