  • Dantherm Group’s 2024 sustainability report has been published

Dantherm Group’s 2024 ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) Report underscores our continued commitment to sustainable development and ethical business practices. Building on our legacy as a provider of energy-efficient climate control solutions, the Group has made significant strides in environmental responsibility, social inclusiveness, and governance integrity.

The 2024 report (Dantherm Group’s second ESG report) documents a decisive shift from focusing solely on compliance – particularly as Dantherm Group is no longer mandated to report under the EU CSRD and Taxonomy regulations – to embedding impactful and practical ESG actions across operations.

Below, we have listed our key sustainability achievements. Download the full 2024 ESG report to dive into the details.

Dantherm Group’s key ESG achievements in 2024

Environmental progress

Significant CO₂e emission reductions

  • Scope 1 & 2 emissions dropped by 16.7%, from 3,882 tons in 2023 to 3,234 tons in 2024.
  • A baseline for Scope 3 emissions was successfully established, revealing that 99.8% of total emissions stem from the supply chain, including the procurement of raw materials, transport, and waste management. Notably, the use phase of our products accounts for almost 97% of all emissions from Dantherm Group (category 11).

Transition to renewable energy

  • Dantherm Group’s share of renewable electricity rose from 27% to 75%, primarily due to the consolidation into an energy-efficient logistics centre in Heinsberg, Germany.

Product and process innovation

  • We have introduced new, sustainable products such as the upgraded FS200 fog smoker and the BIO22 evaporative cooler, both focused on improving energy efficiency and reducing waste.
  • We are reducing the number of components across our product range, minimising the need for spare parts and making products easier to repair.
  • We are gradually transitioning to refrigerants with a low global warming potential (GWP) to future-proof products in anticipation of stricter EU regulations. A recent example hereof is the AC 7000 portable air conditioner.

Sustainable design and waste management

  • More than 95% of waste at the Skive headquarters is recycled or converted to energy, with 0% going to landfill.
  • Two Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) were published in 2024 encompassing ten residential ventilation units with more in the pipeline.

Distribution optimisation

  • The new logistics centre in Heinsberg has reduced transportation needs by 80,000 km annually.

Social impact

Workforce development and inclusion

  • The Group maintained gender representation at 31% female employees; goal is 35% by 2030.
  • The workforce now includes 51 nationalities, up from 45, reflecting strong diversity.
  • A new Group HR function was created to standardise practices across countries and support training, talent development, and inclusion.

Employee engagement and well-being

  • Employee satisfaction rose to a score of 82, surpassing the industry benchmark.
  • We achieved 50% reduction in health and safety incidents since 2022; efforts include audits and proactive safety measures.
  • 13% of employees work part-time, supporting flexible employment models.

Culture of quality

  • Initiatives to embed a quality-conscious mindset were launched, reinforcing one of Dantherm Group’s four core values.

Governance and responsible sourcing

Supplier ESG transparency

  • 108 suppliers are now sharing ESG data through EcoVadis. This transparency allows us to identify underperforming suppliers and implement corrective actions.
  • Dantherm Group achieved an upgraded EcoVadis Committed rating, with a score increase from 48 to 58, and our EcoVadis sustainable procurement score increased from 60 to 70.
  • 91.4% of our total supplier spend aligns with Dantherm Group’s Supplier Code of Conduct (SCoC), with higher compliance in critical categories (93.1% for trade goods, 96.2% for controllers).

Governance framework enhancements

  • Four new ESG policies were developed in 2024, covering the environment, climate, human rights, and labour.
  • ESG KPI tracking expanded from 20 to 40 indicators, improving internal transparency and data accuracy.

Audit and risk management:

  • A screening mechanism was introduced to identify high-risk suppliers for SMETA audits, with three audits scheduled for 2025.

Strategic direction for 2025

Dantherm Group aims to build on its ESG momentum with several forward-looking initiatives:

Environmental goals

  • Continued publication of EPDs, particularly for medium-sized residential ventilation units.
  • Further alignment with fluorinated gas regulations and increased efficiency in product design.

Social initiatives

  • Launch of a new Training House to offer structured performance evaluations and development dialogues.
  • Roll-out of new HR policies at both group and local levels.

Governance enhancements

  • Targeting 120 suppliers to join EcoVadis by year-end 2025.
  • Execution of planned SMETA audits and reduction in supplier complexity by 15% to streamline sourcing.

In conclusion, the 2024 ESG report demonstrates our dedication to fostering a responsible and innovative business model. By focusing on practical action and long-term impact, Dantherm Group is well-positioned to lead by example in sustainable climate control solutions.
