Frequently asked questions (FAQs) on the subject of disinfection

Are your active substances only suitable for disinfection?
No. They can be used for disinfection, odour neutralisation and also mould remediation.

Do your active substances eliminate viruses?
Yes. All Heylo disinfecting agents have a limited virucidal effect.

Can Heylo oxidising agents be used for hand disinfection?
No. The products are not suitable for use on humans or animals.

Are your active ingredients approved for mould remediation?
Yes. All biocide products must be approved by the BAUA (Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health).

Can MAXOX-DF be stretched or diluted?
No. MAXOX-DF is a finished product that must not be mixed with other substances!

What is the difference between PENETROX and MAXOX-DF?
PENETROX and MAXOX-DF have almost the identical composition of ingredients. PENETROX is suitable for surface treatment and MAXOX-DF for room volume. PENETROX can be applied with a brush, a spray bottle or a ULV sprayer. MAXOX-DF, on the other hand, can only be fogged with a thermofogger or pulsjet fogger.

How can insulation layers be disinfected with Foggen?
You can fog insulating layers with the active substance MAXOX-DF. However, the fogger does not make a compression and you need a side channel compressor to introduce the fog into the object. The fog is so fine that, for example, in the case of a floating screed, you can observe the fog coming out at the edge strips or by means of auxiliary holes. There is, of course, a residual risk, as you cannot look inside the object.

Can we fog vehicles, rooms, etc. with PENETROX without hesitation and use them again after a short time? Or do upholstery, floors, etc. have to be covered beforehand and completely wiped down later (also with regard to the bleaching effect)? Can we thus disinfect our employees' vehicles in a very short time? Can we also disinfect our offices?
We recommend fogging your vehicles and your business premises with MAXOX-DF and wiping down relevant objects such as door handles, counters or desks with ALRON CITROX or PENETROX. With MAXOX-DF, there is no need to worry about bleaching. With PENETROX you cannot fog, but only use the ULV sprayer or hand wipe method. The risk of bleaching in textiles cannot be excluded. In the wiping process, the problem of bleaching occurs less because the surfaces are wiped off again and thus no high concentration remains on the object.

With MAXOX-DF, do possible residues caused by fogging have to be wiped up (floors or similar) or can the rooms simply be used again after sufficient ventilation?
As a rule, MAXOX-DF does not need to be mopped up and there is no risk of bleaching. If overdosed, the carrier agent may cause a slight smear film on surfaces, but this will dissolve after some time.
