MMS 2 - the humidity measuring system 4-in-1

For building surveys, repair after water damage, measuring of indoor climate and documentation of psychrometer values - always when precise ambient measurement values have to be passed on, MMS 2 does the work.

Measurement (pin mode) diagnoses how far moisture has penetrated and is used for damage assessment and monitoring of drying in building structures.

Search (non-invasive mode) behind ceramic tiles, high-quality floors, water stains, vinyl flooring, wood, dry walls, plaster, masonry, concrete and concrete blocks.

Hygrometry measures and monitors the correct ventilation of buildings which may influence the air quality indoors as well as moisture problems.

Surface Temperature (IR) uses a laser pointer to test the surface temperature and calculates the difference to the dew point.

The floor layer kit from Protimeter allows a quick assessment of the moisture condition in concrete floors as well as screeds and enables the precise measurement of equilibrium or equilibrium moisture (ERH) in accordance with relevant VOB regulations.

The MMS 2 moisture measurement system can be used in capacitive search mode initially for quick pre-selection of component surfaces by stopping the sensor at the material.

In the areas with the highest moisture content, a precise measurement of the equilibrium moisture content (ERH) should then be carried out. For this purpose, height-adjustable humidity sleeves are inserted into the material, which accommodate the newly developed mini hygrostick humidity sensors. Based on the humidity values measured in the material, a conclusion can be drawn about the amount of excess water present in the material. Humidity levels above 80% clearly indicate the need for further drying. At values below 75%, the floor is usually considered ready for covering. At values below 75%, measured over 24 hours, the floor can usually be certified ready for covering. Please observe the installation guidelines of the flooring and screed manufacturers and the applicable regulations and standards.

Advantage of the new moisture sensors: They can remain in the sleeve, airtight and protected by a cap, until the next measurement. This eliminates long waiting times for each subsequent measurement, as the sensor has already "acclimatised". In order to be able to insert the humidity sleeve, the floor is drilled with the correct drill hole diameter. A suitable concrete drill with depth stop is included in the flooring kit. The moisture sleeves are adjustable in length so that the measurement can only be taken at the desired depth. Between measurements, the sleeve is sealed airtight with a cap. The moisture sensor can remain in the material and is protected.

To read out the measured values, the MMS 2 is connected to the moisture sensor by means of an extension. For repeat measurements, the values can be read out without a long wait.

The probes are then removed from the sleeve with a lifting tool before the hole is sealed. The calibration of the humidity sensors can be checked by the user himself using the enclosed bottle incl. salt solution. If necessary, used sensors can be replaced in no time at all.
